Student Project Example
Myself, Erica Albert, and Alex Dodge are working together for the project. Our variable is going to be number of colleges you are applying to. Erica and Alex are both applying to 9, and I am applying to 10 so we think our average will be around 9.
ReplyDeleteGood. Where will you get your data from?
ReplyDeleteI will be working with Susie Nicolaysen and Caroline Decker. We will be researching how many hours of sleep students get per night. We will be gathering data from part of the Statistics class and from random students in the library. We expect the average to be around 7 hours per night.
ReplyDeleteBecah, Molly, and Hayley will be researching how many televisions each person has in their home. The data will be collected from students at Beverly High School. We predict that the the average will be around 4 or 5.
ReplyDeleteI am working with Ty Martz and Joey K, and we will be researching how many cousins people have. We will be collecting data from students around Beverly High School.
ReplyDeleteWe expect the average to about 10 cousins. Also, we expect for there to be some outliers because some people come from much larger families than others.

ReplyDeleteMe, Cassandra, Leonie, Sam will be collecting data of how many times in the past week (September 22 to 30) Beverly High School Seniors have tweeted. We predict that there will be outliers and most likely skewed to the left.
ReplyDeleteMyself, Mackenna W, Eman B, and Vlad K will be working together. We will be collecting data on how many times people wash their hands each day. The data will be collected from students of Beverly High School. We expect that each person will wash their hands at least 3 times a day, and that the average will be about 5 times per day.
ReplyDeleteMyself, Matt, and Conor will be working on our project together. We will be collecting data from BHS teachers on what percentage of their quizzes (or formative assessments) they give retakes on. Due to the major, but not complete, shift to standards based grading, we predict the average to be somewhere around 80%.
ReplyDeleteMyself, Tasha, Keely, and Camden will be working together. We will be collecting data from BHS students on how many minutes it takes them to get ready for school in the morning from the time they wake up to the time they leave. We predict that the average will be approximately 30 minutes.
ReplyDeleteMe, Mike, and Cam are working together. We are collecting data on how many cups of coffee people drink per week. We predict the average will be about seven cups a week.
