Statistics Review Applets worksheet

  1. Hi Ms. Lebzelter. When I tried to do the applets worksheet, all of the sites that were on the worksheet were blocked by Java on my computer. I updated my computer thinking that the Java blocks would go away, but unfortunately nothing changed. I am unable to open the sites, therefore, I am unable to fully complete this assignment. Hopefully in class I can figure something out or have someone help me so that links are not blocked and I can do the worksheet.

  2. I had a similar issue as camden. All of the websites required a java plugin and I tried downloading it but then it still did not work! Sorry I can try again in school maybe. The websites did look very interesting though so I hope that we can fix this!

  3. I also had the Java plugin issue, and couldn't find a way to resolve it. I will try to view the websites on a different computer before class tomorrow.

  4. I was able to do the exercises and I found them very helpful. They helped because everything was so visual and I liked being able to change the data and observe how the correlation changed after each point was moved. I also really liked being able to guess and check the correlation. That was my favorite part.

  5. Some of the applets were very helpful. The visuals definitely helped with some. However, I thought the mean and median one was pretty pointless because you couldn't actually put in actually data, it was just you putting random dots on a line. Other than that, all the other applets are very useful.

  6. I thought all of the applets really helped and having a visual was especially helpful. Also, they helped me to grasp the different concepts better and when I look at a graph understand how to interpret it quickly and more easily for correlation (r). Overall, the guessing correlation applets were my favorite.

  7. The applets helped to give a visual to allow me to further understand the concepts. It helped to make my graph interpretation better and make it easier to guess the graphs and correlations correctly, so the guessing ones were the best.

  8. These applets are quite fascinating. As I'm not a huge visual learner, I didn't take in much outside of what I already knew, but I can see the value in such tools.

  9. These applets were helpful, especially the visual graphics. Seeing the numerical data is one thing, but having the graphs also helped show the concept. Guessing the correlation was a different way to approach these problems which was helpful.

  10. I found the sites very interesting. I liked trying to guess the correlation. The graphs were also good to look at because they gave me a picture of what something with that correlation looks like.

  11. I found the applets helpful and very visual. I liked seeing the graphs and and observing the correlation. I did not love the median and mean program, but I could see how some people would find it more helpful.

  12. The applets were easy to understand and helpful. The visuals helped me observe graphs like correlation and regression. The guess and check helped me to understand how the graphs worked.

  13. Most of the applets were very helpful, especially the first one, which was great for understanding the difference between a point with a high residual and an influential point. Some of them were a little weird, like guessing the correlation, but I see how they could be useful to others.

  16. I tried the applets using safari, firefox and google chrome. They all required the java plug in. I downloaded the plug in and the websites still weren't working.

  17. The applets were helpful from a visual standpoint. Seeing them helped me understand them better than I could have any other way.

  18. The applets are incredibly useful when trying to understand the material. It presents the material in an entirely different format, with is helpful, especially because I consider myself to be a visual learner.

  19. I could not access all of the applets however I was able to use several. The applets I used were interesting. I especially was interested in the one where it calculated the 5 summary stats and did a histogram and stem plot for you. It was nice to see how things change (such as the LSRL or the mean/median) changed as you changed data points.

  20. I found the applets very helpful, they were helpful because I am a visual learner. By using the applets, I was able to visualize the graphs. The first applet was especially helpful because it helped me visualize the difference between a point with a high residuals and a influential point. The applets were very useful and I believe that I will use them in the future to help reinforce what I have already learned.

  21. The applets were super helpful because they allowed me to visualize all the concepts to help me understand them better. I will use these for future studying.

  22. The applets were hard to access but in the end I'm happy I got to look at them. They helped me to visualize what a good correlation graph should look like and I understand the different concepts far better than before looking at them.

  23. I originally was not able to access the applets, than i borrowed a friends computer. After getting to the applets it really helped to apply and visualize what i had learned.

  24. I borrowed a friends computer because the applets weren't working and it really helped me understand the concepts better.

  25. These applets were a helpful and fun way of looking at statistics. Using these tools gave me a clearer conception of some of the most essential AP Stats topics.

  26. I wasn't able to access the applets on my computer originally, but I'm now able to. The applets were a more fun way to look at statistics and the visualization really helped me understand the concepts better
